Welcome
The cosmology group at IFT UAM–CSIC in Madrid is part of a joint research centre established in 2003 by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). It is distinguished by its singular focus on theoretical physics in Spain, covering foundational issues in cosmology among its core programmes. 
Within cosmology, the group addresses topics such as the early Universe, cosmic evolution, structure formation, the topology of the Universe, and the interface between fundamental theory and cosmological observations. Its research environment is highly international, featuring collaborations, seminars, and advanced workshops that span beyond Spain. The institute also emphasises training of young researchers as part of its recognized “Severo Ochoa” Centre of Excellence status, signalling high standards in research, education, and outreach.
