The Master in Theoretical Physics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) is your gateway to the forefront of knowledge, an advanced program that combines a rigorous foundation with the opportunity to specialize in some of the most exciting fields of modern physics: elementary particles, cosmology, astrophysics, gravitation, and quantum field theory.
Designed and taught by internationally renowned faculty from both the Department of Theoretical Physics (DFT) at UAM and the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT UAM–CSIC), this Master’s program places you at the heart of cutting-edge research. From day one, you will work alongside research groups engaged in international projects, making use of state of the art scientific technologies and methodologies.

Each track also includes specific elective courses focused on its area of expertise

  • For the PEC track, mandatory and track-oriented electives include Quantum Field Theory, Standard Model of Particle Physics, Open Problems in the Standard Model, Experimental Particle Physics, Quantum Entanglement and Information, and other advanced mathematics and theory courses.
  • For the AFC track, mandatory and track-oriented electives include Stellar Structure and Evolution, Radiative Processes in Astrophysics, Observational Techniques in Astrophysics, Formation and Evolution of Galaxies, Stars and Planet Formation and Computational Astrophysics.
This combination of common and specialized courses ensures a comprehensive education tailored to the interests and professional goals of the students.
