Want to find out what research is really like?

Join a research group at the Department of Theoretical Physics (DFT), the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) or Centro de Investivagación Avanzada (CIAFF), and gain first-hand experience of how research in Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics is carried out.

Are you a student?

Are you a researcher and would like to offer an internship?

What is SPIN?

SPIN connects students with researchers to undertake internships in a real research environment.

Each internship is arranged individually, taking into account the student’s interests and academic background, the research areas currently available, and whether a suitable project and supervisor can be found.

Places are limited and depend on the availability of researchers and projects.

A first step into research

SPIN gives you the opportunity to experience how a research project works from the inside: tackling a specific problem, learning new tools and methodologies, and working alongside researchers in the field.

Where can you do your internship?

One of the distinctive features of SPIN is the opportunity to join research groups across three different centres:

DFT – Department of Theoretical Physics · UAM
Internships with research groups at the Department of Theoretical Physics of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

IFT – Institute for Theoretical Physics · UAM–CSIC
Internships with research groups at the Institute for Theoretical Physics.

CIAFF – Centre for Advanced Research in Fundamental Physics · UAM
Internships linked to CIAFF’s research areas and groups.
