{"id":2964,"date":"2025-03-07T04:22:18","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T03:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.ift.uam-csic.es\/severo\/?p=2964"},"modified":"2025-03-07T04:22:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T03:22:20","slug":"suprise-2025-supernovae-probes-of-invisible-sectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.ift.uam-csic.es\/severo\/index.php\/2025\/03\/07\/suprise-2025-supernovae-probes-of-invisible-sectors\/","title":{"rendered":"SUPRISE 2025: Supernovae Probes of Invisible Sectors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>From the 11th to the 14th of March 2025, the SUPRISE 2025 Workshop will take place in Madrid, Spain.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The high temperatures and densities reached in supernova cores constitute an ideal environment to produce and test exotic particles such as axions, axion-like particles, heavy neutral leptons, dark photons, gauge bosons, Majorons, sterile neutrinos and other light dark matter candidates. Besides, these objects are also crucial to test neutrino self-interactions, which cannot be probed otherwise in terrestrial experiments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The potential signatures from this invisible sectors include an increase in the photon or neutrino flux; effects on the cosmic ray spectrum; the shortening of the neutrino burst duration due to an excessive cooling; the enhancement of the explosion energy released by Type II supernovae; modifications of the neutrino flavour composition; and changes in the standard explosion mechanism which must be carefully explored in self-consistent simulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop, which will be held at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (IFT UAM\/CSIC) in Madrid from the 11th to the 14th of March 2025, will explore this window to new physics from a wide perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Invited Speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Francesca Calore (LAPTh-CNRS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damiano Fiorillo (DESY)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maurizio Giannotti (UNIZAR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M. \u00c1ngeles P\u00e9rez-Garc\u00eda (USAL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valentina de Romeri (IFIC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M.
