{"id":1548,"date":"2023-05-22T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.ift.uam-csic.es\/severo\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2024-07-03T11:55:53","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T09:55:53","slug":"complexity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.ift.uam-csic.es\/severo\/index.php\/2023\/05\/22\/complexity\/","title":{"rendered":"Complexity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Between&nbsp;Field Theory and Gravity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Quantum complexity is a fundamental concept that measures the difficulty of&nbsp;constructing a quantum state from a reference state and a given set of resources.&nbsp;Initially studied in the context of quantum computation, it has recently proven to be a&nbsp;powerful tool in gravitational physics, especially in quantifying the information&nbsp;processing capacity of black holes.&nbsp;The upcoming workshop aims to bring together&nbsp;leading experts in the field to discuss recent progress in defining complexity in&nbsp;theories with infinitely many degrees of freedom, and to explore the potential of&nbsp;quantum complexity in shedding light on the emergence of spacetime in holographic&nbsp;theories of quantum gravity.
