The IBS-ICTP-MultiDark Workshop on Dark World is the eigth event where IBS-CTPU, IFT/MultiDark are sharing strengths on the quest on the identification of the Dark Matter. As in the previous year the ICTP high energy physics group has joined the joint workshop. The eigths edition will be held at the IFT (Madrid, Spain, click here for information how to reach the IFT).
The workshop is oriented towards dark matter physics and will cover a wide range of subjects. The aim is to promote the collaboration and exchange of ideas. The list of invited speakers includes theoretical as well as experimental physicists.
MultiDark (Multimessenger Approach for Dark Matter Detection), is the Spanish project for dark matter searches consisting of ~10 theoretical, experimental and astrophysics groups from ~20 Spanish universities and research institutes.
The IFT (Intituto de Fisica Teorica, UAM-CSIC) was officially created in 2003 as a joint research center belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). It is the only Spanish center dedicated entirely to research in Theoretical Physics. The IFT members develop research in the frontiers of Elementary Particle Physics, Astroparticles and Cosmology.
The Institute for Basic Science (IBS), comprises 40 centers, including three experimental and theoretical ones on particle physics and cosmology:
Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe (CTPU)
Center for Axion and Precision Physics Research (CAPP)
Center for Underground Physics (CUP)
The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) comprises several sections working on different fields of theoretical physics and mathematics including
– The High Energy, Cosmology, and Astroparticle (HECAP)
