El instrumento m\u00e1s avanzado para su detecci\u00f3n es el telescopio espacial Fermi, que la NASA lanz\u00f3 en 2008. Entre sus muchos retos est\u00e1 el de encontrar alguna evidencia de la materia oscura, de la que tan poco sabemos, a pesar de que supone el 25 por ciento del universo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Algunos modelos te\u00f3ricos postulan que la materia oscura puede estar formada por unas part\u00edculas, denominadas WIMPs, que al aniquilarse podr\u00edan generar radiaci\u00f3n gamma.
