The early time Lyapunov regime can described by an effective field theory of a single mode, which for maximally chaotic systems is an hydrodynamic mode. We describe that effective field theory for conformal field theories, both in two dimensions and in higher dimensions, and show how it captures maximal chaos and pole skipping. We discuss the relation of the theory to other formulations of CFTs and show how it captures interesting objects such as conformal blocks and partial waves. We speculate on what is needed to extend the discussion to non maximal chaos.

SlidesDownload

Date : 30th of June, 18:00 CET Link : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82834697825?pwd=OUltMDJ5TWgwOVZUWmU2RzA1VmgxUT09 Speaker : Moshe Rozali (UBC Vancouver) Title: Effective Field Theory for Chaotic CFTs Abstract: Relations between chaos and hydrodynamics are one of the unique feature of holographic CFTs.
