La mayor\u00eda de estas detecciones est\u00e1n relacionadas con mol\u00e9culas\n      org\u00e1nicas complejas, o COM, definidas como compuestos basados en carbono\n      con m\u00e1s de cinco \u00e1tomos en su estructura molecular.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      Resulta especialmente interesante que algunas de estas mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas\n      complejas tengan inter\u00e9s prebi\u00f3tico y que, por tanto, se considere que\n      pudieron estar implicadas en los primeros procesos bioqu\u00edmicos que\n      condujeron a la vida.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      Recientemente, hemos obtenido estudios espectrales de banda ancha y\n      sensibilidad extremadamente alta de la nube molecular G+0.693, situada en\n      el Centro Gal\u00e1ctico y conocida por ser uno de los reservorios qu\u00edmicos m\u00e1s\n      ricos de la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      Nuestros estudios espectrales, realizados con los radiotelescopios de\n      40 metros de Yebes y de 30 metros de IRAM, nos han permitido detectar cerca\n      de treinta nuevas especies moleculares. Entre ellas se encuentran\n      precursores de ribonucle\u00f3tidos, bases nitrogenadas, amino\u00e1cidos, az\u00facares,\n      protoprote\u00ednas y protol\u00edpidos, tal y como se propone en distintas teor\u00edas\n      sobre el origen de la vida.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      En esta charla presentar\u00e9 todos estos descubrimientos y analizar\u00e9 c\u00f3mo se\n      construye la complejidad qu\u00edmica en el medio interestelar, no solo en el\n      entorno extremo del Centro Gal\u00e1ctico, sino tambi\u00e9n durante las condiciones\n      iniciales de formaci\u00f3n del Sistema Solar.\n    <\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n  <!-- English -->\n  <div id=\"content-en-jimenez-serra\" style=\"display:none;\">\n\n    <h2 style=\"color:#004a87; font-size:1.8rem; margin-bottom:16px;\">\n      DIFT Colloquium: Izaskun Jim\u00e9nez-Serra\n    <\/h2>\n\n    <p>\n      On <strong>October 8, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.<\/strong>, the\n      <em>DIFT Colloquium<\/em> series will host\n      <strong>Izaskun Jim\u00e9nez-Serra<\/strong>, who will deliver a talk entitled\n      <em>\u201cTowards prebiotic chemistry in the interstellar medium\u201d<\/em> in the\n      <strong>Multipurpose Room at Plaza Mayor<\/strong>.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      The talk will explore recent advances in the detection of complex organic\n      molecules in space and their possible connection with the earliest\n      chemical processes that led to the origin of life.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      In particular, it will present the results obtained from highly sensitive\n      spectral surveys of the G+0.693 molecular cloud, located in the Galactic\n      Center and considered one of the richest chemical repositories in the\n      Milky Way.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      The colloquium will be followed by the traditional <em>coffee<\/em>,\n      providing an opportunity to continue the scientific discussion in an\n      informal setting.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <h3 style=\"color:#004a87; font-size:1.3rem; margin-top:24px; margin-bottom:10px;\">\n      Abstract\n    <\/h3>\n\n    <p>\n      In the past decade, Astrochemistry has witnessed an impressive increase\n      in the number of detections of new molecular species in space.
